Michigan Donated Dental Services (DDS)

The Michigan Donated Dental Services (DDS) program has provided more than $25 million in free comprehensive dental treatment since 1995. Through the Michigan Dental Association’s network of generous volunteer dentists, care has been provided to more than 6,800 of Michigan’s most vulnerable citizens since 1995. Volunteer dental laboratories also help the program provide once-in-a-lifetime desperately needed care to patients who are elderly, have a permanently disabled or chronic illness, are low income and have no other means of getting the dental treatment they need.

Through an annual grant from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the donation of services from dentists and dental laboratories, the Michigan Donated Dental Services (DDS) program provides care to residents from across the state. The program is a licensee of Dental Lifeline Network. Services provided include extractions, oral surgery, and dentures.

Eligibility Requirements

• Have a permanent disability, or
• Are elderly: age 65 or older, or
• Have a chronic health condition

AND

• Have income below 200% of the federal poverty level
• Have no dental insurance
• Need extensive dental care (we are unable to provide emergency services)
